Vision

VisionThe Center for Peace, a holistic spiritual teaching and healing center, is founded on a vision of inner peace available to all people. In our experience, inner peace is found in our awareness of the presence of the Creator (the Spirit Of Life In All Things).

Very aware of the power of personal belief systems, the Center for Peace encourages people to evaluate their beliefs as to whether they limit them or free them in their very personal spiritual journey.

Rather than teach a creed or doctrine about the Creator, the Center for Peace teaches people to discover the Creator on Its own terms:  in Its Creations. Since any belief became limited the moment it stepped into the human mind, the Center relies more on experience than indoctrination. In doing so, it draws on what has worked for people throughout human history: ceremony, ritual, dance, shamanic practice, vision seeking, channeling, meditation, chanting, and prayer.

The closest thing to a doctrine at the Center for Peace is:
"The Creator is One and All."

If the Creation is the expression of the thought of the Creator, then the clues to the highest good of a human creature's life expression would be best discovered in the unique nature and quality of its being. The Center for Peace encourages people to “push the envelope of what we can think, believe, and do about who we are and can be,&rdquo by looking at the possibilities inherent in the nature of being human.

Following in the tradition of the Masters (Jesus, for instance) the Center for Peace and its teachers are not as much interested in showing you what we can do as to show you who you are and what you can do. In this sense the Center can be described as a Laboratory of Personal Change and Transformation.

Criteria by which we evaluate our belief systems:

A belief is seen as working when it helps us to experience:

•  divine presence instead of abandonment
•  healing instead of suffering
•  forgiveness instead of judgment
•  hope instead of meaninglessness
•  love instead of fear
•  unity instead of separation
•  power instead of depression
•  freedom instead of guilt
